I went antiquing this morning and I think I've discovered my new 'home away from home!'
We drove past the cutest antique store last year while taking Ms. DQ to Girl Scout camp but I've never made a trip back...until today. Oh, it's the best! It's called Luckett's Store, so if you ever are in the Northern VA area and you love 'vintage hip,' then you must stop in for a treat. They have a really cute site to give you an idea of what they have too.
I wanted so many things, like this wire dress form...
And these vintage birdcages...
...but was happy with the oodles of vintage lace & glass bottle I came home with...
I also got to stop by another darling antique shop called 'On a Whim,' and got the cutest wooden mini birdcage that I'm going to paint and hang in the studio...
I was originally thinking white, but I was looking through my paint and found this gorgeous Aquamarine that I love and forgot all about...so we'll see. Any suggestions?
Oh, and here is the cutest little tea cup and saucer I got from Anthropologie last weekend...on sale, I might add :)
And the leather journal I told you about here...
I've already started putting my little inspirations in it. I love that it's so feminine and pretty. What about you all? Do you keep inspiration journals or a diary? What do you do to keep your thoughts and ideas?
Okay, I've been working on a few clay things and have glitter all over myself, so I need to get back to that but I hope you enjoyed some of these vintage finds. I think I'm totally addicted to antique shopping now and already have a couple more on my list to visit. I'm actually contemplating taking the fam back to Luckett's this weekend because it is Mother's Day ya know? And that dress form is calling my name (hint hint ;-)

P.S. I'm hopefully going to get some of that vintage lace in the shop tomorrow. Let me know if you want some and I can reserve it for you.
