Stockings, glitter, A Fanciful Twist & a Birthday!

Okay, I feel like we've been working on these forever...and i finally put the finishing touches on little Punky's pink stocking last night so I can finally post the pictures :-)  I'm working on another one too so hopefully I'll be able to post it before Christmas, hehe.

So here is Punky's stocking...

...what do you think?  I just sewed together some of my glittery button paper posies,  which by the way, I just added some to my shop)...

...hot glued them on the stocking, & added some ric rac and ribbon at the top...then added a little stickles glitter to the ribbons.  I was going to actually sew them on the stocking until I got this genius idea from a whimsical little place!  Here's the scoop...

I am a loyal follower of Vanessa, my new FAV ARTIST, over at "A Fanciful Twist!"  A while back she was so kind as to share a stocking template that she made up and it got me motivated to get working out ours.  My girls also LOVE her whimsical & bright pictures so they jumped at the chance.  Even though they totally went in a different direction once they got started...they
still used the template.  I just love how Ms. Vanessa glittered up her sweet stocking here!  Go visit her to get your very own template to print and get started.

Oh, and wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY while you are there...it's TODAY!!

Onto the stockings...the girls got into my button stash...

...they cut dies with the Big Kick (you know we had to get all comfy in our pj's)...

...and you know we had to play a bit...what do you think of her ring :-)

Not lot's of pictures in between...ooops!  I sewed the felted flowers together and then just hot glued them on...woo hoo, gotta love that stuff!

Here's the final product...

...uh, okay...white glittery stockings don't show up so well in a white glittery tree...so here...

THANKS again to Vanessa for the inspiration and template for these cute stockings &
Happy Birthday!

Jaime

Those are awesome! You clearly have a knack (which I don't have and I know that about myself) and you're passing it along to your daughters - so cool!

Merry Christmas!

I laugh that around here we love the stockings but since we're jewish we used them as BIRTHDAY SOCKS and hand them by the 'fire' the night before the birthday.
my daughter loves it!
