I'm in a Workout Rut...

...and I need some motivation. As I was going through my daughter's dresser and doing the ol' seasonal clothing switcheroo, I came across this onesie (thanks again to JD & fam) and started thinking of how unhealthy and exhausted I have been feeling lately.

Then I did my daily run through of my fav blogs which of course included WorkoutMommy. As I was reading through some comments about how much people were going to work out this week, it made me realize that I need to get my butt back in shape. I'm feeling lousy, eating way too many sweets & staying up way too late at night (as you can see, it's after 1 in the morning). It's gotta stop! I was back to my daily walks with the kids and workin' out a couple of weeks after my babe was born - was feeling great and now I'm Not, so what gives?

Yeah, I don't know either but if you have any kind words that might motivate me, I'd love to hear from you. What keeps you motivated to stay in shape? And how do you keep from eating the whole bucket of halloween candy that is taunting you? I don't know if I have the willpower to say no :-(

Someone please heeeelp...

Hey Jamie - I am far from perfect (I have no self control around sweets) but I drag myself to the Y at least three times a week. It's kind of a natural high to get sweaty..and then if I happen to do a little pigging out (which is inevitable!) I don't have to beat myself up about it.

And the Haloween candy..I say get it out of the house as soon as you can! Once you start on it there's no turning back :) Since my girls were little I've had them gather up a pile of candy to give to the "pumpkin fairy" the more candy they give the better gift(a nice toy, some books or video etc) the fairy will leave them in the morning! It's a win win..hope this helps :)

Ha, love the "pumpkin fairy" idea...I'm going to have to use that one to get this candy out of the house! Thanks Julie!

I hear ya girlfriend! what happened to our lunge/park dates?

I like the idea of the pumpkin fairy and I think that if you can stay off the sweets for a few days your body will stop craving them. Also, the lack of sleep is making you crave quick sugar rushes as well as sapping your energy.

so stop reading this and get to bed!

and once my frankenfoot heals up, we'll be back out lunging away!

I'm a night owl too and totally agree that it just contributes to the sweets binges. I like yoga and it gives me a reason to WANT to go to the gym. Once I'm there I usually get in a workout. Just do 15 minutes, you'll probably end up doing more.
